Cross-selling opportunities at the gas station
Gas stations have long been more than just a place to fill up. Additional offers such as snacks, car washes or bistro products play an important role in sales. The PACE Campaign Manager offers a smart solution to advertise these in a targeted manner: display offers directly in the PACE Drive app, during or after refuelling. This allows you to reach customers at the right time, increase shop sales and improve the customer experience.
Why cross-selling at gas stations is essential
In today’s gas station landscape, the sale of additional products such as coffee, snacks and car washes plays a crucial role in sales. These items offer higher margins than fuel, making them essential to sales. Customers are willing to take advantage of such offers spontaneously – especially if they are specifically made aware of them.
In addition, advertising other elements such as the search for new employees can also be a useful addition. Particularly in times of current challenges such as a shortage of skilled labour, this is a good way of targeting potential applicants.
For cross-selling to work, offers must appear at the right time and in the right place. Traditional advertising measures such as posters or flyers are often static, inflexible and only reach part of the target group. Digital campaigns, on the other hand, can be dynamically adapted to address customers in a personalized way. Targeted advertising before, during or after refuelling not only increases sales, but also improves the customer experience and promotes customer loyalty.

The advantages of the PACE Campaign Manager for gas station partners
The PACE Campaign Manager offers numerous advantages for gas station partners to optimise their marketing strategies and increase sales:
- High visibility: advertising is placed specifically in the PACE Drive app – on the gas station page, in the gas station finder and after the payment process.
- Reach of up to 20 kilometres: Customers see offers before they even reach the gas station, which encourages spontaneous purchasing decisions when good deals are available and opens up new opportunities to win customers, apart from the price of fuel.
- Minimised wastage: Digital campaigns reach users who are potentially interested and avoid unnecessary advertising expenditure.
- Flexibility and control: Campaigns can be started, adjusted or paused in real time. Run times can be planned flexibly and several campaigns can run in parallel to address different target groups at the same time.
- Technical diversity: Supports image and video formats (JPG, PNG, MP4) in common aspect ratios for a wide range of advertising options.
- Measurable results: Partners receive detailed insights into the visibility of their campaigns in order to continuously optimize their advertising measures.
- Easily advertise additional offers: Whether coffee, car wash or employee search – the variety of advertising options can be used in a targeted manner to address different target groups.
- Connection to MCS: The free MCS Connector enables gas station partners to create advertising material for various channels – print, social media and digital ads. These can be uploaded directly to the PACE Campaign Manager and used immediately for campaigns in the PACE Drive app. Partners have access to templates for product images and prices and can plan their campaigns seamlessly. The close cooperation with MCS ensures an efficient workflow and easy utilisation of existing advertising materials.
These functions make the PACE Campaign Manager a powerful tool for increasing shop sales, improving the customer experience and maximising the efficiency of marketing campaigns.
How the PACE Campaign Manager works
The PACE Campaign Manager enables gas station partners to manage digital campaigns in a simple and targeted manner. The process begins with the upload of advertising assets in the supported formats JPG, PNG or MP4 with file sizes of up to 4 MB. Aspect ratios of 16:9 and 1:1 are possible.
The campaigns can be placed in three different locations within the PACE Drive app:
- On the gas station page: permanent display of advertising on the gas station’s detail page.
- After the payment process: Customers see offers directly after completing the refuelling process.
- In the mobile payment tab: The mobile payment tab shows which provider is actively running ads, with a range of up to 12 kilometres to the gas station.
Partners can run several campaigns at the same time and plan the duration flexibly. Administration is centralised for selected or all stations. Users gain access to the tool after agreeing to the terms and conditions and can start, pause or adjust campaigns in real time. In addition, the cooperation with MCS offers templates for product images and prices, which can either be downloaded or uploaded directly into the system.
